Marlon Samuels taunts Shane Warne : I answer with bat not mic

Samuels was named man of the match, but the match officials took a dim view of his behaviour during the closing stages of the match and he was fined following the West Indies’ victory celebrations. While fielding Warne threw the ball at Samuels and in return, the batsman tossed his bat over Warne’s head. I’ve never disrespected him, it seems as if he has a lot inside him that he needs to come out.

“I had my say, a lot was said, a lot had happened before the tournament and we just put all that aside and focus on the cricket. Cricket means the entire world to them, just as cricket is in India, it is a religion”, Samuels added. It is a huge victory for West Indies.

During the match, Samuels stopped David Hussey from running the second run, and that was playing on Warne’s mind when he came to bowl. Warne, who was on commentary, criticised the manner of his dismissal.

Well, Samuels did best to answer Warne with the bat, but probably went overboard with his post-match presentation jibe, something that could have been avoided.

He also took the opportunity to flay retired Australian spinner Shane Warne who featured in an ugly confrontation with the Jamaican during a Big Bash League game in 2012-13.

Simmons also declined to venture his views on the regular critiques provided by Warne during his stints as a media commentator in Australia last summer, where Samuels struggled in the three-Test series the West Indies lost 2-0, and in his team’s WT20 semi-final match against India.

After smashing 85 not out off 66 to lift the Windies from an impossible position, Samuels was entitled to say whatever he wanted according to Sammy.

Starc, on the other hand, was slightly more empathetic in his opinion about the way Marlon Samuels reacted.

While the Windies, all over the world “champion” danced their ways into the hearts and nights of one and all, there was a bigger picture as far as Marlon Samuels was concerned. “That’s pretty poor. He’s too cool to be schooled”.

“Stokes is a nervous laddie”, Samuels said when asked of his chat with Carlos Brathwaite before the last over, off which West Indies needed 19 to win.

“I don’t appreciate the way he continues to talk to about me”.

“And now, a lot of people should be honest with themselves and give credit where credit is due”. After Brathwaite had hit the final six to sound England’s death knell, Samuels removed his shirt and rushed across to be in front of the England dugout to gesticulate. “I don’t know [why], because my face is real and his face is not”.

In the end, he said that it is a win for the Caribbean.
