Marshmallow update for BlackBerry Priv will arrive next year
BlackBerry said a couple of days ago that it has spoken with resellers, a category that includes carriers, about expediting testing of Android updates.

Yet the Priv is facing a few major hurdles as it goes on sale.
Simply put, the Priv is too expensive for what you get.
The BlackBerry Priv’s comes at a heavy price tag of $699 (roughly Rs. 46,100) without a contract in the United States and C$899 without a contract in Canada.
BlackBerry’s continuing struggles to clamber back into the mobile device market have been highlighted a new analyst report that shows the company’s market share has fallen yet again. BlackBerry announced that pre-orders for Priv were much higher compared to BlackBerry Classic and BlackBerry Passport.
This high cost puts the Priv in direct competition with the iPhone and Samsung’s brilliant S6 edge.
Google Play Store: Unlike old BlackBerry smartphones, Priv users will have full access to all of the apps on the Google Play store. Word has it that the device will be out through CDMA-based mobile service providers most likely by 2016. The security and privacy focused smartphone has received generally positive reviews so far, especially considering it’s a device that’s basically in a league of its own. The company has mentioned that it has the ability to patch any device variant which probably means that it can bypass carriers as well.
One of the questions surrounding the BlackBerry Priv flagship is how the company will manage to implement its market leading security nous on the Android platform. As you all may already know, the slider smartphone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with BlackBerry’s enterprise software suite and a very minimal skin running on top.
