Martin County authorities find partial remains belonging to Tricia Todd

She went to the bed and breakfast where her ex-husband was staying and was said to have left at around 2am the next day. She had been working as a hospice nurse, and she’s survived by the couple’s 2-year-old daughter. She also didn’t show up that day for her work at a hospice care center that day, the station reports.

Williams came clean of his crime on May 24-after previously passing a polygraph and clearing several lengthy and detailed interviews early in the investigation, according to a press conference held by Martin County Sheriff William Snyder, via NBC News.

On Thursday night, detectives said Todd’s former husband, Steven Williams, directed them to the location after pleading no contest to second-degree murder in exchange for a 35-year prison sentence.

Search teams are expected to redouble their efforts in locating her remains. Her remains haven’t been located, but it is “fair to say” they are in a wooded area in Hobe Sound, Snyder told reporters. Snyder said they won’t be able to positively identify the remains until DNA tests are done.

12 p.m.: ASA Tom Bakkedahl: Deal was, take us to the body of Tricia Todd. “Oftentimes when people are confronted with what appears to be insurmountable evidence, they’ll go ahead and cooperate”. Detectives who spoke to Williams’ mother said she heard him say, “Tricia can poof disappear”, the court documents said. Surveillance images of her smiling at she talked to a clerk were widely circulated on social media.

Deputies found Todd’s auto parked near her home, with the keys in the ignition and Todd’s purse inside.

“We do feel very comfortably based on what he said and didn’t say … we do think we’re within a 15-mile radius”, he added.

Officials said Williams could face a stiffer punishment if his statement is determined to be false.

Authorities haven’t released how Todd was killed.

Williams is assigned as a field training detachment instructor with Detachment 1, 372nd Training Squadron, according to a spokesperson at Seymour Johnson. The Air Force airman was arrested Tuesday in North Carolina. She reportedly worked in food services before her discharge in 2008.

‘The confirmation of Tricia’s death is beyond heart-breaking and indescribably painful. This is her last known whereabout before being deemed “missing” on April 27.

He said: ‘Tricia’s a tough girl. She is now living with family members.

Snyder thanked the community for an outpouring of support on social media and in the “boots on the ground” search.

“It’s an unfortunate reality that yes, in this business, you have to make a deal with the devil – and I made a deal with the devil”, Bakkedahl said.
