Martin Sheen speaks out on Charlie Sheen’s HIV announcement
Charlie Sheen, formerly the highest-paid television actor in America, has confirmed he is HIV positive and said he has paid out more than US$10 million ($15 million) in blackmail money to keep his condition secret. While some people, including Heather Locklear and father Martin Sheen, have vocalized their support for the actor’s courage, others are pondering the legal ramifications, including the SiriusXM host.

“He had been leading up to this… for several months, and we kept encouraging him to do it”, Martin Sheen revealed at the Global Financial Leadership Conference on Tuesday night.
‘I’m most concerned for him because I suffered from depression and was treated for it, ‘ he says.
Actress/porn star Ginger Lynn also posted a message on her official website praising her “first love”, calling Sheen “one of the most fantastic men I’ve ever known”, and adding, “I loved Charlie back then, and I still have love for him today”.
Amanda Bruce said she knew about Charlie Sheen’s HIV status before they engaged in unprotected sex.
After making a similar HIV announcement in 1991, Johnson has been a staunch advocate for helping people struggling with the illness. “He said, no, this was his and his alone”, the actor told the Naples Daily News of his 50-year-old son on Tuesday, November 17.
The lawyers for the sex partners have revealed that, if Sheen stops paying they will go after him with a vengeance.
Olympian Greg Louganis, who has been living with HIV for 27 years, tells FOX411 that Charlie Sheen’s HIV admission opened a ‘line of communication’. Sheen credited the Enquirer’s “blind item” and similar media reports as what made him finally decide to come out publicly.
As for how he was diagnosed, it wasn’t immediately apparent that he had HIV. In other words, I think it is completely unethical for anyone to release this actor’s name without his consent, and I think they have already crossed the line by simply listing his ex-girlfriends. “We were together. We had sex nearly every day for a year-with lambskin condoms”. “We can’t say it’s zero”, Dr. Huizenga explained.

He said he had struggled with the diagnosis, which he initially thought was a brain tumour.
