Coinciding with its manufacturer change, the single-car team will enter into a technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota’s top organization that fields cars for Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin.

As part of its move to Toyota, Furniture Row Racing will join in a technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing from which it will receive chassis and engines, sources said.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Furniture Row is the only prominent Sprint Cup Series team not located within the Carolinas. Furniture Row had been in an alliance with Richard Childress Racing since 2010. “The track record of Toyota and Joe Gibbs Racing speaks for itself”.
“We thank Furniture Row Racing for all of the team’s hard work and accomplishments over the past decade, and we wish Barney Visser and his organization continued success with their future endeavors”, said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports.
Toyota needed a second partner to Joe Gibbs Racing with the closure of Michael Waltrip Racing after this season, although Toyota had started talks with Furniture Row before the MWR decision to close after this season. He has rebounded this year, winning at Pocono and recording 17 top-10s in 27 races.

“Martin has done a terrific job driving our No. 78 race auto to a victory and into the Chase”, said Garone. During that time the Mayetta New Jersey native scored one win. Truex missed the Chase in 2014 and finished a disappointing 24th in the point standings. That new partner is expected to be Furniture Row Racing. “It’s a great organization and Barney (Visser, team owner) gives us whatever we need to be successful”.
