Martinez says Chris Christie is like many ‘friends’ seeking GOP presidential

The governor, who said he’ll have more to say about his immigration policy later this month, is in the middle of the pack in a crowded Republican field and on the bubble for making the 10-person Republican presidential debate that FOX is planning to sponsor next month. But in his quest to be taken seriously as a candidate, the politician has unfortunately shed one of his best skills: his ability to entertain. He faces a public employee pension crisis.

LePage’s endorsement of Christie comes on the same day that Republican Sen. Residents across sections of four South Jersey counties hit hard by that powerful storm are bitter that their state’s governor campaigned heavily during past weeks in Iowa and New Hampshire but couldn’t find time to at least tour their storm ravaged communities. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), to throw his hat in the ring for the Democratic nomination.

From the looks of Christie’s new website, his digital brand revolves nearly exclusively around this sentiment. Christie was dealt a tough hand: trying to get nine Republican governors re-elected in states Obama twice carried. “The vast majority feel he has turned his back on New Jersey, so why should we be paying for anything?”

“You’re going to get what I think whether you like it or not, or whether it makes you cringe every once in a while or not”, Christie declared.

“McCain also had an inspiring war hero biography that was central to his story”, he said. Christie announced his presidential bid earlier in the day in New Jersey.

But these days Christie is doing less yelling. The state also remains in financial disarray, a reality that hardly elicits confidence in his ability to take the helm of a nation that now carries more than $18 trillion in national debt. If you like it, great.

Citing poll numbers, he said, “The scary thing was that over 60 percent of the people polled who ID’ed themselves as Democrats did not support Israel’s right to defend itself in Gaza”.

“Yes, it’s possible to be a supreme holy figure yet still know what you are talking about regarding the Climate.”

With trouble at home and a less-attractive record to GOP voters than he’d hoped for, Christie enters the race outside the top tier of candidates.

Chiding the president at the same event, Christie said, “It seems at times this president is unwilling to stand up to anyone in the world except Prime Minister Netanyahu, who actually happens to be our friend”.
