As per the latest price list on the company’s website, the slashing of price is also applicable on the 1.3 litre variant. The entire DDiS320 range has faced the same Rs 2.05 lac drop, whereas the DDiS200 faces a price drop of anywhere from Rs 40,000 to Rs 66,000.

Within six months of its launch, Maruti Suzuki India has cut the price of its premium crossover S-Cross by over Rs 2 lakh, as a “correction” measure.

Maruti Suzuki: India’s largest auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India today increased prices of its vehicles across models by up to Rs 12,000.

Baleno is priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 8.11 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

The four variants of the 1.3-litre variant were launched at Rs 8.34 lakh, Rs 9.15 lakh, Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 10.75. The company sells only S-Cross and Baleno through its Nexa outlets.

Currently, there are close to 100 Nexa dealerships in India and Maruti Suzuki plans to expand this network.

In contrast, Baleno which was launched nearly three months later and sold from the same Nexa network has clocked sales of 28,000 units. “This is the fastest retail network any automobile company has ever come up in the entire world”, Kalsi said.

The firm, which has opened 100 Nexa dealerships, plans to open 150 by the end of 2015-16 and another 100 dealership in 2016-17.
