Vitara Brezza has been developed with a special focus on the Indian customers, said T Suzuki, president and chief operating officer of Suzuki Motor Corporation, the Japanese parent company of Maruti Suzuki. The development of Vitara Brezza was done using Suzuki’s core technology and global product development process.
In terms of technology and features, Vitara Brezza raises the bar with several first-in-class features in the compact SUV category: “Bull Horn” shaped LED light guides with projector headlamps and rear combination lamp, unique cockpit style instrument cluster with mood lights, large and wide tyres and SMARTPLAY infotainment.
Commenting on the significance of the model, MSI Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said: “If Baleno is our poster for Make in India, the Vitara Brezza is our statement for Create in India”. “The DDis diesel engine (same as Ciaz) will be on the Vitara Brezza at first”.
Speaking to a publishing media, CV Raman, Executive Director, Engineering, Maruti Suzuki, said that the all decisions and judgments on the Vitara Brezza were taken by Maruti’s Indian R&D team, and no validations were taken from Suzuki’s global team. Though, an AMT unit could also be on offer. While the base variant LDi comes equipped with Bluetooth-enabled audio system, speed sensitive door locks and driver airbag protection along with an additional SUV body-kit, the optional and higher variants get passenger airbag and ABS with EBD. The vehicle gets a peppy appeal from the sides that flaunt star-shaped alloy wheels and the OVRMs. Maruti will offer three customisation options for vitara brezza – glamour beauty and urban to accessorise your brezza as per your wish.
The vehicle is likely to be positioned against the recently-launched Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport.
