Marvel marks Comic-Con homecoming with a showstopper

With Marvel now steering the ship, could this be the best Spider-Man movie yet? While director Jon Watts wouldn’t confirm if Michael Keaton is playing the villain Vulture, which has always been rumored, the director did have this to say about why he’s the flawless villain for this movie, which has been described as an “all-out high school movie”. Following a typical high school kid around town is a new “low” for Marvel, and not in a bad way. “Every journey. Has a beginning”. “During the short clip, also cited by Screen Rant, viewers learned that Tony Revolori (‘The Grand Budapest Hotel”) is playing Parker’s classmate Flash Thompson. The panel did reveal that the movie will mainly focus on Peter Parker’s high school life, or as Deadline said, Parker’s “high school life as a nerd – and no luck with girls”, which was shown in the exclusive clip.

Later, Peter is working on his web fluid rather than doing the actual project he is supposed to be. There is one bit where Peter and a friend are gawking at girls, and Peter suddenly thinks, “Maybe we should stop staring before it gets creepy”.

After that it’s gym class, here Peter overhears high school cheerleaders play a version of the game Fuck, Marry, Kill with Marvel superheroes. They’re crushing on Spider-Man, and Peter can’t help but stare as he does push-ups.

An article by Heavy said the new Spider-Man movie isn’t just a reboot, there is a big difference in this film.

We got a lot of Spider-Man in Hall H for a movie that’s been shooting for less than a month. Boom – the Spider-Man: Homecoming logo appears on the cover of a high school notebook.
