Marvel’s Daredevil is returning to Netflix for season 3
Like Jessica Jones and Daredevil before it, the newest series in the Netflix Marvel Universe will be gritty and raw and from the newly released trailer, it doesn’t disappoint. The producers of Luke Cage are well aware of the current discussions about race in America, so at San Diego Comic-Con creator Cheo Hodari Coker talked with Entertainment Weekly about why Luke Cage is the hero that our country needs right now.

Mike Colter plays the charismatic lead character, Luke Cage and is joined by Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple). In the comics, Danny Rand was born in New York City, so he already has a lot in common with numerous other characters like Matt Murdock and Luke Cage. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
