Marvel’s Mockingbird Gets Pilot Order with Adrianne Palicki Starring in Marvel
Rumor of a spinoff for the two characters first broke in April, though at the time ABC decided not to move forward with the idea. The show, titled “Marvel’s Most Wanted” (ugh), will put Morse and Hunter at the fore, and insiders are saying it’s an “entirely new project exclusively focused on the two characters to continue their story” rather than a spinoff, which makes no sense.

The project is being developed by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell (Angel, The X-Files) and S.H.I.E.L.D. writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost, Hawaii Five-0). It’s two characters from S.H.I.E.L.D. yet it’s not a spinoff? We then immediately discovered this wasn’t happening and we’d only see a third season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a second season of Agent Carter.
While the site reports that ABC is close to a deal to order the new show, reps for the network and for Marvel could not confirm the news. They’re co-writing the pilot together and, should the show go to series, they’ll serve as executive producers alongside Jeph Loeb.
To us, one of the most fascinating aspects of this is merely that Marvel has so many potential projects going at ABC, even though none of them are huge winners in the ratings these days.

In the meantime, both Bobbi and Hunter will return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when season three premieres Tuesday, September 29 at 9 p.m. on ABC. Palicki also commented on the supposed rise of female superheroes and their having a bigger role in TV shows and movies. Would Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. feel their absence?
