Marvel unleashes Comic-Con star galaxy

The announcement came at the end of Marvel’s Comic-Con International presentation, which was held off the back of the buzz from the Wonder Woman panel – with Warner Bros. beating Marvel to the punch with a female-fronted superhero film two years ahead of Captain Marvel.

The first person to dare mention “Girl Power” gets a punch in the face.

Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch as neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange, who turns to mysticism to try to heal his injured hands following a awful auto wreck – and ends up discovering the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Marvel closed things out on a high note, however, with an obligatory all-Marvel photo, including the new Captain Marvel herself — Oscar-winner Brie Larson, who was greeted with a rapturous standing ovation. The film will star Gal Gadot as the superhero, and teased that the film may be set in WW1.

Well apparently, Doctor Strange is not quite as strange as his title makes him to be. Starring Finn Jones – whom you might know as Loras Tyrell from Game of Thrones – the show will start on Netflix in 2017.

And he didn’t let down the fans, who were treated to new footage of Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange, opening on November 4 and starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

Kurt Russell drove the crowd wild when he showed up to confirm he will play Chris Pratt’s father in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, which hits theaters on May 5 next year.
