The cast members also expressed their hopes for a second season and kept the door “open” to an eventual visit from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Michelle. It reintroduces the extended Tanner family, while also setting the stage for DJ’s (Bure) life after the death of her husband – the inciting incident in having her sister (Sweetin) and best friend (Barber) move in to help raise her children.

Fuller House will pick up with the adventures that began in 1987 with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco.
