“It is an important feature of independent schools that our results are not only about very able people getting very good results but also about adding real value – in terms of results and in a much wider sense – to every boy”.
The school in South Woodham Ferrers were celebrating alongside their students this morning after 500 A* and A grades were reportedly obtained across their results.
A school spokesperson said: “These brilliant results follow the huge success of St Michael’s Sixth form students in their A and AS exams and are a credit to the hard work of the students and staff at the college and the support of parents”.
Particular mention should go to Sean Cross who achieved the top results at GCSE with 5 A*, 4 A and 1 B grade and will be returning to St. Mary’s to continue his studies at A Level.
Each division posted a 99 per cent pass rate of pupils getting five or more A*to C GCSEs including English and maths.
Francesca Swystun achieved eight A*s and one A (as well as an A grade in A/S Level German), Henry Ling achieved seven A*s and one A, Freddie Hoogewerf achieved six A*s and four As.
Headteacher Rachel Kruger said: “At our core we have exceptional teaching and a solid, broad curriculum, and that has meant that our staff and students have not swayed with the winds as performance measures have changed over the years”.

“These results are a outcome of the successful partnership between staff, students and parents. I wish all of them well for the future”.
