Nassau County Police and Rockville Centre Police are investigating a triple stabbing inside Reverend Days Park in Rockville Centre.

The three 19-year-olds were taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital following the stabbing. Two suffered minor injuries and one was slightly more serious, but not life-threatening, a source close to the Herald said. It was reported that a knife and a machete were used in the attacks. Officials do not believe the two stabbings are related.

Monday, three teens on a trail in Hempstead Lake State Park were attacked by another group not far from Hempstead High School, officials said. There had been no arrests in either case late Tuesday.

But Tuesday’s stabbing was less than two miles away from a stabbing in a Hempstead park only a day before. There was no word on when it would reopen.
