A MA trooper is getting kudos on social media for sharing a meal with a panhandler who was holding a sign asking for help. And he took the time out of his day, went and bought us lunch, and had it with me, ‘ she said. The person who took the photo then shared it via Facebook, where it didn’t take long to come to the attention of the trooper’s superiors.
A witness to the picnic, named by The Washington Times as Jake Morse, snapped a picture of Bonin sitting on the back of his cruiser while sharing a meal with Murphy.
Massachusetts State Police posted the photo to their Facebook page, explaining that a woman shared the photo with them. Massachusetts State Police managed to get hold of it and uploaded it to their Facebook.
Since then, Trooper Bonin has gone viral with more than 100,000 people liking the photo. Trooper Luke Bonin, in plainclothes as he returned from court, approached Murphy with two meals and told her to choose one.
“We have extraordinary troopers on the Massachusetts State Police who conduct themselves honorably, and perform selfless acts, every day”, the post said. The Massachusetts State Police posted the picture on their Facebook page and titled it, “A Selfless Meal, and Conversation for Two”. “He then extended the two meals and told her to pick one”.
