Massachusetts gas prices holding steady

A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was seven cents higher at $2.25. Today’s CT prices are $.15 cents lower than a year ago; while the national average is $.09 cents lower.

Nationally, the average price of gas went up 2.7 cents a gallon last week, to $2.20 a gallon, GasBuddy said in a statement.

AAA officials attributes the bump up in prices to the recent Colonial Pipeline leak.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County Monday recorded its third slight decrease in four days, dropping one-tenth of a cent to $2.783.

The survey showed Ohio’s average price lower than the average for the nation. Though prices around southwestern Pennsylvania have risen about 5 cents in the last month, the autumn season is expected to bring lower demand and a cheaper blend of gasoline that refineries produce for winter driving, GasBuddy analysts have said.

And here’s more good news for CT motorists: The Nutmeg State has moved down another spot on the list of states with the highest gas prices; it’s moved from 13th to 14th place on the list of states with the highest gas prices.

Prices in Paducah stayed steady for the past week, ranging from $1.95 to $2.19 a gallon.
