The sinkhole developed around 7 a.m.at Fifth Avenue and 64th Street. Traffic is being diverted away from the area, and N train traffic on the New York City subway is operating on a delay.

However, no injuries nor damage to private property were reported.

It was not immediately clear if water service to nearby homes and businesses were affected by the hole.

Authorities are not yet sure if there is any disruption to water or gas services, but the footage of the sinkhole shows at least one disconnected pipe.

A large sinkhole swallowed an intersection in Sunset Park section of Brooklyn.

A Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) spokesman told the Post that a massive water leak had caused the hole to open.
