Crystal Palace assistant boss Keith Millen was delighted with the performances of strike pairing Dwight Gayle and Frazier Campbell in the Capital One Cup win over Charlton Athletic.

Gayle helped himself to a hat-trick, while Fraizer Campbell opened the scoring in the second half.
“I miss regular fixtures against the likes of Charlton and Millwall because there’s always a buzz around those games and it seems like an eternity ago that we last faced Charlton back in February 2013″, he said in his programme notes ahead of this evening.
“It was nice to see Adrian Mariappa, Dwight Gayle and Fraizer Campbell getting some game time and getting their match sharpness”. “They both looked risky so that will give everyone a confidence boost and it’s nice to have some competition for the weekend”. We have a lot of injuries and in our situation we had to use some young players.
Palace, though, did double their advantage after Diarra bundled over Campbell in the area and Gayle slammed the resulting spot-kick home.
Diarra was sent off after another foul in the box, with Gayle scoring again from the spot before completing his hat-trick with a header after a corner.
“But give Charlton credit, they shut us out”.
Jackson, 33, added: “We probably couldn’t have asked for a bigger game – against our local rivals who are now doing well in the Premier League”.
And there was still time for Gayle to cap a dominant Palace display with a third late on as Pardew’s men marched into the next round.
“We were pleased with Wilf, he was a threat all night and caused them problems, created chances for us and worked hard out of possession so he has responded in the right manner”.
“He wasn’t even on the bench in the last game but he’s come here, hasn’t sulked and has shown what he can do”.

Meanwhile, Palace’s reward for their win on Wednesday is a fourth round tie with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
