Matt Damon: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked
In each of the movies, as amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) powers forward through fistfights and auto chases, the plot goes in reverse as he uncovers another layer of his hidden past. Hoping to draw him out of the shadows, Central Intelligence Agency director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones) assigns hacker and counterinsurgency expert Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander) to find him. As she begins tracking the duo, Bourne finds himself back in action battling a sinister network that utilizes terror and technology to maintain unchecked power. To learn more about Jason Bourne head over to this website. If you have seen any of the previous Bourne films (check out our retrospective on all the films), not only do you know his name, but you know this movie as well.

People who are fans of Matt Damon may enjoy this newest Bourne film. What’s meant to draw you in and elicit empathy does nearly the opposite. Alicia Vikander has a central role as his protege. Following “Bourne”, the long-haired English filmmaker, who got his start making political documentaries for TV, was content to make feature films that directly addressed real-world matters, such as the Indian Ocean piracy thriller “Captain Phillips” and the Iraq War drama “Green Zone” with Damon. “But we’re in a very different world now, and the audience that goes to see these movies now has a different way of looking at the world”, he added. Although that is not in and of itself bad, this character and his relationship with Jason is never fully fleshed out leaving it to feel like it was tacked on only to give Jason another hazy memory to unravel. Stiles is a fine actress but she comes across as if she had no interest in being in this movie. He can still kick butt, though, and the action scenes are once again insane. It all ends up in Las Vegas, of all places, with an armored car-led vehicle chase that – shades of Greengrass’ 9/11 docudrama “United 93” – may inadvertently look a little “too soon” after the recent terrorist truck attack in Nice. “I love the hair clip that they let me get for my character, because it feels like one of those things that all girls have at home when you really need to get down to work and be productive, you just need to get your hair up”.
Damon’s scarred and greying Bourne is now more buff than ever – he drops an opponent with one punch in an opening skirmish – but he’s matured in ways both visible and emotional, as has the actor.
