Other than the laundry list of operatives trying to kill him, “Jason Bourne’s” problems fall upon pacing and underdeveloped plot points.

Over the course of all these films, however, Jason Bourne has gradually come to learn an bad lot about his mysterious past – that he was part of a secret Central Intelligence Agency operation, that his identity was wiped out in order to turn him into a cold-blooded assassin, that the Central Intelligence Agency now wants him eliminated, and that he’s had to “go rogue” just to save himself from being assassinated. Governmental paranoia gives the film a bit of a fresh feel, but it’s a superficial improvement as the basic story structure falls a little flat. Before the film runs out of steam by the end, we’ve been treated to some whizzing crash-and-burn theatrics in Athens, London, and Las Vegas.
