Matt Damon Suffered To Return To Jason Bourne
And Matt is thankful director Paul Greengrass was able to secure Alicia’s talents for the latest instalment in the Bourne movie series, because she is so in-demand. He and star Matt Damon weren’t slated to return – a solid but underwhelming sequel followed (The Bourne Legacy), with which neither was involved – and then, in 2016 our prayers were answered: Jason Bourne returns, with director and star intact.

Jason Bourne has daddy issues, and he’ll stop at nothing to work them out. While Bourne has gone dark, Ex-CIA operative Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) hacks into the CIA’s mainframe and downloads classified files that can help Bourne piece together the truth. In the second scene Bourne is still being pursued and shot at by the Asset but now in Las Vegas and the result is like a carmaggedon scene out of The Fast & Furious.
While it’s fun to rib on such a successful franchise, it really just serves as a reminder that you need to watch The Bourne Identity again. With the help of another Central Intelligence Agency agent, Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander), he uncovers more information about his past along the way. The back up plan is to have him killed.
There is a certain “wash, rinse, repeat” quality to the Jason Bourne franchise that makes it incredibly hard to distinguish one from another.
Bullets and bloodshed abound, as “Jason Bourne” throws its titular character into the familiar territory of auto chases and fistfights.
He said: “When making the movie, I always take them and go on a big family trip”. Although if this makes enough cash, it probably wont be the last we see of him. After nearly a decade away, it was really cool seeing them team up again to continue with this awesome franchise. In a world where every online action is catalogued and categorized, Jason Bourne doesn’t shy away from taking a critical eye to topics like social media and privacy. This was not an terrible movie but it was the worst of the series in my opinion.
While the actual plot may not be the tightest in the Bourne series, the action set-pieces (including a motorbike ride through a rioting Athens crowd and a SWAT vehicle chase through Las Vegas) more than make up for it.

Whatever issues the movie had, it was still a Bourne movie.
