The book on which the film is based follows a former intelligence agent who wrote a book on forensic pathology and becomes involved in a case where someone uses his book to commit untraceable murders. The story concerns the adopted son of a wealthy American family, who used to head a secret spy unit for USA intelligent. Enjoying himself in anonymous retirement, he’s called back to work on an unusual investigation, one that leads him to uncover a nefarious terrorist plot that threatens all of the States. The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that Vaughn has signed with MGM to produce and direct a different sort of spy flick in I AM PILGRIM.
I Am Pilgrim is scheduled to go into production next year.
MGM’s Glickman and Matt Dines, vice president of production, will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.
Though he’s busy developing the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service that he’ll likely shoot next year, Matthew Vaughn is also investigating other corners of the espionage world.

Vaughn is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham LLP. Haynes is now working on a follow-up novel featuring the same protagonist, and MGM is keen to see I Am Pilgrim spawn a film franchise.
