Mauricio Pochettino glad he gave Son Heung-min another chance

Spurs spent over £65 million on players in the summer but recouped at least £35 million on sales, and Pochettino has previously admitted that the club can not compete with their wealthier rivals in the transfer market.

Loan spells with QPR and Aston Villa helped his development, but according to The Sun, he’s now ready to commit his long-term future to Spurs by following Christian Eriksen in signing a new deal this summer.

Onomah made his debut at White Hart Lane after coming on as a substitute in a 4-2 FA Cup replay victory against Burnley on January 14, 2015, and went on to make 19 first team appearances that season, mostly coming off the bench.

Pochettino signed Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen and Moussa Sissoko – a trio well-equipped to deal with the robust side of the game – during the transfer window but he insisted they are also skilful footballers.

“I think we’ve got a stronger squad than previous year”, the England global said.

“He is very powerful and I think he is a different profile for us, so he will give us another option offensively”. It said: “We are delighted to announce Christian Eriksen has signed a new contract with the club, running until 2020”.

“Then in the second half, in our set-piece from a corner they scored and it was a draw and we felt very disappointed, then it was Chelsea”. “There has been some clubs which have come in, in the past 18 months, yes”.

“It stops the rumours and he can be focused on playing football only”.

You know how he is because last season he was in Newcastle and in the Euros he was fantastic.

It means Pochettino, who favoured a similar 11 from week-to-week during their title challenge last term, expects Son and others on the fringes of the first team to feature more regularly.

“Obviously in Wilfried and Bruno’s cases they are global stars of good standing”.

“Sometimes it’s hard the timing, but it is good we have the player”.

Mark Hughes has changed Stoke culture, according to Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. “We have been together with the national team for a while”.

“Tottenham found this fixture quite easy previous year, winning 4-0 at the Bet365 Stadium, and though I don’t see it being as easy this time, Spurs need to start a winning run in order to stay with the pack at the top of the Premier League”.

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen has penned a new contract extension with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur
