Mauricio Pochettino Refuses to Give Up Title Hopes Despite West Brom Setback
Leicester need just three points from three games to clinch a historic title and could do so before Tottenham’s next game.

Instead, they were reeled in – Craig Dawson heading the equaliser for West Brom in the 73rd minute – and it was not the first time this season that Tottenham had squandered points at White Hart Lane from winning positions.
Spurs were held 1-1 at White Hart Lane by West Brom, leaving them seven points behind Premier League leaders Leicester with just three games to go. We need to use this experience in the future.
“We were unlucky in the first half and created a lot of chances but this always happens in football”, said Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, whose team are seven points adrift of Leicester. The Englishman also mentioned how “teams try to get under our skin” but considering how well Spurs have done this year – its suggests that “big teams” have to “cope with that” which Kane also mentioned that they “feel we are”.
“Mathematically it is still possible [for Spurs to win the league]”. We are very young but I think we need to kill the game in the moment if you want to win the title. “It is hard. We are not going to give up”. But while they dazzled with a 4-0 win over Swansea on Sunday, one day later Spurs appeared blinded by the expectation of those who assumed they would win their remaining games with their customary panache. “We’ve had a few games like that this season where teams have come back to bite us”.
“That game was turning from the first minute of the second half”, the former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme afterwards. “We felt we needed to win this game so we are disappointed”.
West Brom was transformed in the second half, no longer the team lacking imagination before the break and able to halt a three-game losing run against the team with the stingiest defense in the league.
“We need to still fight and believe and we need to be strong in our mind”.
“Leicester are doing a pretty good job and deserve to win the title because they have been there since the beginning of the campaign”, Rondon added.
“We’ve got to move on, Chelsea are next and hopefully United do us a favor and we’ll go from there”.
The quickest and easiest way for the title race to finish is if Leicester City win their next match, but that would require a win against Manchester United.
