Mavs’ Cuban apparently rejecting Jordan’s Twitter apology

His efforts were part of the reason Dwight Howard chose Houston a few years back. Not only are two young potential cornerstones in Rondo and Jordan no longer options, but Dallas’ first-round pick goes to Boston unless the Mavericks have a spot in the top seven. And it worked… at first. Shortly after Jordan backed out of his agreement, Cubanannounced via CyberDust that he told Wesley Matthews he did not have to honor his agreement to sign with the team. Without so much as a phone call to Dallas.

He went off on Jordan, speaking to Tim MacMahon of ESPN. Maybe he got nerves about being a franchise player and having the pressure of leading a team. “He was scared”, Parsons said. I had my driver take me to his house. There was no other reason other than that he was comfortable and he has friendships there. “I know something is up Let’s talk”, Cuban said on his Cyberdust account. I didn’t think that was right. He could have been the man in Dallas. The failure to land Deron Williams was because of the owner filming an episode of “Shark Tank”, and the Mavericks will never live that one down even if they add an over-the-hill Williams as a consolation prize this summer.

According to famously anti-gay ESPN reporter Chris Broussard, Cuban was driving around Houston like a madman, begging Jordan’s family to give him the player’s address so he could talk with him.

Jordan reportedly reached out to the Clippers when he started getting cold feet.

Chandler Parsons was baffled by DeAndre Jordan’s decision to back out of a deal with the Mavericks. That’s what I thought he didn’t want. Make this happen, National Basteball Association schedule makers.

While the Mavericks have said Matthews is making a speedy recovery from the Achilles injury suffered March 5 in a game against Dallas, there now is no real reason for him to be overanxious to return to action.

It’s safe to say Cuban is winning the battle right now, as Broussard has not commented further on the issue. Cuban said earlier Friday that communication with Jordan “basically stopped” Tuesday and that Jordan did not respond to any of the owner’s attempts to contact him Wednesday.

Lopez and Young said Thursday they both quickly committed to re-sign with Brooklyn, wanting to stay together after they played well down the stretch in leading the Nets into the playoffs last season.

Jordan’s apology over Twitter definitely did not heal any wounds that he left on Wednesday morning.
