Max Von Sydow cast for Game of Thrones season 6
Now it appears the two-time Academy Award nominated actor has turned his attention to the small screen.

We’re certainly not complaining here: Max von Sydow is a tremendous actor, and this is a really great opportunity to see someone of his caliber working in a pivotal role on the HBO show. He will reportedly portray the ‘Three-Eyed Raven’ – the ancient mentor of Bran Stark.
Struan Rodger played the human version of Three-eyed Raven for his season four transformation.
There is a new man behind the Three-Eyed Raven on the upcoming sixth season of “Game of Thrones“.
Von Sydow’s involvement is yet another huge scoop for the HBO show, and comes hot on the heels of the arrival of former Deadwood star, Ian McShane.
Bran, Meera and Hodor were absent from Season 5, but recently, the young actor who plays the Stark confirmed he would be back.
Prior to von Sydow’s casting was announced “Deadwood’s ” Ian McShane, but this time his role is not yet known.

Like McShane, whose season six role is now being kept under wraps, Sydow, who is set to appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is expected to have limited (but important!) screen time in season six.
