Bran, Meera and Hodor were absent from Season 5, but recently, the young actor who plays the Stark confirmed he would be back.
Game of Thrones has recast the role of the Three-Eyed Raven with a silver-screen legend for Season 6.
Both von Sydow and McShane are said to have pivotal roles in the new season, but neither man is expected to have much screentime.
If you haven’t read the books but are familiar with the “Game of Thrones” TV adaptation on HBO, then you are probably still curious about that three-eyed raven that has been popping-up from time to time.
Von Sydow’s casting definitely confirms that the young Stark will be returning to the show, after taking a season off.

Von Sydow has an Academy Award nomination for his work in 1987’s “Pelle erobreren” and another for the 2011 film “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”. Sydow is best known for roles in “The Seventh Seal“, “The Exorcist” and “Flash Gordon“, and will appear in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens“.
