After experiencing a setback last week, Manning returned to throwing on his own indoors this week. It’s just, ‘Let’s go, let’s have a good week, let’s work, ‘ and that’s what he did.

Police say, Bettie Jones, 55, a woman who lived on the first floor of the building, was accidentally shot. A child holds a candle during a vigil outside Bettie Jones’ home on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, in Chicago.

That worked against Pitt – Fuller thoroughly torched Pat Narduzzi’s stubborn cover-zero scheme – but didn’t against Clemson. Redshirt sophomores Donovan Munger and Tracy Sprinkle may also be called on to fill the void provided by Schutt’s injury.

The deaths arrive while the Chicago Police Department is being scrutinized by the Justice Department, which has opened a wide-ranging investigation into whether the department’s practices contribute to civil rights violations.

‘Suicidal Mistake’ for Virginia GOP to Require Voter ‘Statement of Affiliation’
He views the move as a “suicidal mistake” since Virginia GOP is in a desperate need for fresh voters. He said the requirement does not target a particular candidate or group of voters.

Emanuel’s statement followed a day of activism and mourning involving friends and relatives of the victims.

Family members and supporters of LeGrier and Jones are blaming bad leadership and a police culture of “shoot first and ask questions later” for the deaths.

Protests over McDonald’s death are tied to the larger Black Lives Matter movement, which has pushed the frequency of police killings of black Americans and governmental indifference to those deaths to the forefront of American politics, starting with the killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014. It comes after last month’s release of police dashcam video showing white officer Jason Van Dyke shooting black 17-year-old Laquan McDonald 16 times in 2014. This issue demands a much greater response than the 30 days of administrative duty that the officers involved in Saturday’s shooting have received, and the blanket statement from Mayor Emanuel.

LeGrier’s mother and father condemned police action Sunday. On either side of the door, Post-It notes indicated where two bullets hit siding on the house. The report did not reveal the exact number of gunshots the teen sustained, although family said they had been told he had been shot seven times, according to the New York Times.

When police arrived, LeGrier reportedly charged down the stairs while still carrying the bat.

Chicago police said they were not releasing additional information about the shooting.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement: “Any time an officer uses force the public deserves answers, and regardless of the circumstances we all grieve anytime there is a loss of life in our city”. “We have to speak for her because if it was one of us, she would have been down here fighting, she would have fought for all of us”.

LeGrier’s father, Antonio LeGrier, told the Chicago Sun-Times his son appeared to be a “little agitated” when the father returned to the apartment. LeGrier was a sophomore honor student at Northern Illinois University, studying engineering, who was home for the holidays. Hoping to defuse the situation, LeGrier’s father called police. Police have said that Mr McDonald refused to comply with orders to drop a knife he had been wielding.

He said his son had emotional problems after spending most of his childhood in foster care. “He’s here for Christmas break, and now I’ve lost him”.

Cooksey denied that her son ever exhibited “combative behavior”.

Civil rights activist Al Sharpton said Emanuel should step down in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program on Monday, adding that he wondered why Emanuel had stayed in Cuba, before Emanuel said he was returning.

Attorney Sam Adam Jr., who is representing the Jones family, told the Chicago Tribune that officers’ shell casings were found 20 feet from the front door. How far away were LeGrier and Jones when police started firing? It is not clear whether there are any video recordings of Saturday’s shootings.

Twelve hours later, another man was injured in a police-involved shooting and was taken to the hospital in serious-to-critical condition, authorities said.
