Mazda MX-5 crowned World Car of the Year
Those not interested in green aspects of the auto industry might take a peek at the roster of winners for the World Performance Car of the Year, which crowned the Audi R8 Coupe ahead of contenders such as the Chevrolet Camaro, Honda Civic Type R, Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, and Range Rover Sport SVR.

The MX-5 RF’s novel roof consists of segmented front, middle and rear sections, and retractable back window glass.
Despite the expected price premium of around £2500 over the £18,495 starting price of the regular auto, the MX-5 RF is expected to be the best-selling United Kingdom model when it goes on sale in 2017. The best and the brightest cars launched in 2015 made it to the final nomination list of the World Car Awards and the MX-5 managed to beat the new generation Audi A4 and Mercedes GLC to win the coveted title.
“As our iconic MX‐5 roadster approaches one‐million units of production, this award is proof that it is as young, vibrant, fun and relevant as ever”. As such, the 2016 World Car of the Year has been designated the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
“Our new-generation lineup has been designed under the KODO-Soul of Motion design philosophy which aims to bring cars to life, and we’ve continually refined the beauty of its forms”. As one of the oldest and longest established Mazda dealers in the United Kingdom, T W White & Sons is delighted by the news of the awards.

Audi’s R8 has been named 2016 World Performance Car of the Year. It also picked up UK Car of the Year and Car of the Year Japan. It’s the first time red leather has been seen on a stock Miata since the 90s, and we probably have to thank the CX-9 for this treatment, as it pioneered new fine leather finishes for Mazda.
