Mazzarri: Conte is not my friend but I’ll shake his hand

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hinted Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi could start alongside each other up front after their match-winning combination at Watford.

Eight minutes later it materialised, and this time Conte’s celebrations were nearly as exuberant as against West Ham on Monday night.

“I’m pleased, I’m pleased for Cesc because he’s working very hard in training sessions to show me that he deserves to play”.

“Ola Aina is a guy of the Academy, [born in] 96, very good with great potential, but you know with a young player you must work to improve him and put him in the first team”.

He’s (Diego Costa) scored two goals [this season], but I prefer them at the start and not the end!

He said: “Fitness might come into it a little bit, but it’s still early in the season and we’re all finding our feet”.

“We know the coach has his idea of football and he tries to teach it to us”, Kante told Chelsea’s offical website. When you play so well and don’t manage to get any points, it leaves you unhappy.

Willian will be available again after sitting out the Watford victory with a minor calf problem.

“When we were in Italy and we fought for the title, Juventus against Napoli, yeah, but when you stay up and you are fighting for the title everyone fights for their club”.

Both started out immaculately suited, but then a downpour forced them to change into heavy coats, with the wind swirling round the stadium adding to the wintry conditions. We were not focused at either goal.

Watford have now won only one home game in eight and will have to be careful how they integrate £40m worth of new recruits, with games against West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester United looming.

“We played better than at Southampton last week”, he said.
