McCain’s fuzzy questions for Comey leave observers puzzled

When the Special Counsel investigation starts in its early week, as we know from past history, you don’t know where it’s going to go. Comey said he told Rosenstein of his concerns about Trump’s actions during their private interactions – before Rosenstein wrote his memorandum blasting Comey’s handling of the Clinton probe that would initially be used by Trump as his rationale for firing Comey.

“I think that the American people have a whole lot of questions out there, particularly since you just emphasized the role that Russian Federation played”, McCain said.

She also took to Twitter on Friday to hit President Trump for his response to Comey’s testimony. He somehow surmised that Mr. Trump might not tell the truth regarding the meeting they had. James Lankford, R-Okla., Sen.

Publishers and even Hollywood producers are lining up to get Comey to share all the details of his relationship with President Trump and his investigation of Hillary Clinton, a reporter for the Fox Business Network a Sandra Smith, says.

“That was the thing that kept it for me that I had to do separately to protect the credibility of the investigation, which meant both the FBI and the Justice Department”, Comey told the Senate committee.

Comey began the 2.5-hour hearing by charging that the president’s claims that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is in disarray “are lies”, and apologized to Federal Bureau of Investigation employees for the slight. Sessions failed to disclose those contacts during questioning at his Senate confirmation hearing, when he told senators he hadn’t had any contacts with Russian Federation.

McCain then tried again, asking Comey repeatedly if he was aware of the president or members of his inner circle being at risk of being blackmailed by foreign governments, to which Comey simply said that was a question he could not answer.

“Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) was in disbelief during Sen”.

Nor did he report to his superiors at the Justice Department as he was required to do and simply jotted down an unclassified memo because he feared Trump “might lie about the nature of our meeting” one day.

Another publishing insider told Dailymail.com that Comey was in talks with Bill Barnett, a top lawyer-agent in Washington whose book clients have included Bill and Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, Prince Charles and Barbra Streisand. He’d had moments of discomfort during the Obama administration as well.

Mr. McCain, 80, Republican of Arizona, said he believed there was a “double standard” because an investigation into the use of a private email server by Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president, was completed in July, while an investigation into Russia’s meddling in the presidential campaign continues. He added that “as I said before the Federal Bureau of Investigation, we had an investigation open at the time and so that gave me a queasy feeling”.
