McCarthy on Rodgers: ‘This is the best shape I’ve seen him in’
Aaron Rodgers’ cheese-free diet appears to have paid off.

The Packers also waived defensive end B.J.
On Tuesday, the 2016 Green Bay Packers take the practice field for the formal opening of training camp. “I’ll be disappointed if everybody’s not ready to go, but we’ll see in five weeks”.
In the aftermath of Jordy Nelson’s season-ending knee injury, the Packers fell from sixth to 23rd in total offense, while Rodgers’ 92.7 passer rating was the lowest of his eight years as starting quarterback. While the majority of the team’s roster expects to participate, several important players including wide receiver Jordy Nelson will begin camp on the PUP list.
“You want to be out there and you want to have fun, so it’s nice to at least be catching some balls and have the jersey on and cleats on and not 100% in tennis shoes and being a coach”, Nelson said.
To McCarthy, Rodgers seems refreshed and rejuvenated.
In the process of Rodgers notching an MVP, Nelson and receiver Randall Cobb became the first duo in National Football League history to both register 90-plus catches, 1,200-plus yards and 12-plus TDs in a single season.
“We’ll sit down this afternoon and go through it, all of those things”, McCarthy said Monday. “I have great confidence they’ll get that back”.

McCarthy would not say which players did not pass and therefore would not practice. Still, Green Bay has given every indication that Nelson should return to full participation well before the regular season.
