McCaskill: Party Will Be Unified After Resignation of Wasserman Schultz
Inside the convention, Sander gave a speech in which he called on supporters to “elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine”.

The emails, released by WikiLeaks, proved them right.
Sanders delegate Nadine Gallagher of Oklahoma City said she still isn’t comfortable supporting Clinton and said it remains to be seen who she will support in the general election. Headliners: First Lady Michelle Obama Senator Bernie Sanders DREAMer Astrid Silva Tuesday: A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and FamiliesFrom the DNC: “Tuesday will feature the roll call vote and how Hillary has spent her entire career working to make a difference for children, families, and our country”.
Sen. Bernie Sanders may not have a shot at becoming the Democratic nominee for president, but he’s still a prominent presence at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Some New York Democrats, though, said they are hopeful that Sanders’ supporters will join Clinton delegates in the common goal of defeating Trump in November. “I think he was saying it because he thinks he has to”. There had been talk among Sanders supporters of walkouts and booing, but Sanders had sent out an email to delegates, asking them to refrain.
But Sandra Williams of Spokane, Washington, said she not ready. “There are a lot of us and we are not being listened to”.
Clinton is promising a stark contrast to last week’s Republican gathering, an often chaotic affair that featured a heavy dose of pessimism about the economy and national security. Maureen McKenna and Sandra McClinton of the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida expressed enthusiasm for hearing Sanders speech.
“The question I was asked is: Does the [Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee] get involved in primaries or in races with incumbents?” said Lujan, a New Mexico congressman.
Second, Clinton has to balance the inconsistency and misguided assertions of the Black Lives Matter movement with being sufficiently credible as someone who will provide law and order and be supportive of cops on the streets.
And despite the widespread talk of the different views of trade, both Clinton and Sanders supporters had a fairly positive view of globalization and said worldwide trade was good for the US economy and their own standard of living – a sharp contrast with Trump supporters.
There were also 17 super-delegates. “But Hillary won, and we need to move on”.
-Iowa delegate Jason Brown said Clinton must do more to reach out to Sanders’ supporters: “I’m all for growing the party and healing the party, expanding the party”. Where there are real differences, they are often more about semantics than policy. “I am feeling like I want to protest”. Obama said of Silva in 2014, a message that, almost two years later, will likely be emphasized throughout the four-day convention in Philadelphia.
Williams is considering voting for Clinton.
The whole display was puzzling, because all the available evidence shows that Sanders supporters are not actually blind with Clinton hatred at all.
“Hillary can not win without voters under 30, it’s as simple as that”, said Democratic strategist Paul Begala, a longtime Clinton ally. “And Bernie is spectacularly strong with voters under 30”.
Still, there’s no telling how the email leak will hurt her re-election campaign, said Florida delegate Mitch Ceasar, who has known her for 24 years in Broward County politics. “It’s time to end her political career for good”.
“A ham sandwich could beat Trump and she’s not going to beat him”. “[Wasserman Schultz] was clear yesterday about what she plans to do”. The issues are too big – and Trump too bad – for them to sit it out.

In addition, the Federal Bureau of Investigation recently slammed the former secretary of State for being too cavalier with her State Department emails, though she dodged her supporters’ biggest fear, a criminal indictment. Or courting the former opposition, and his or her followers.
