McCown got off to a hot start against their AFC North rival Baltimore, leading them to a 20-0 lead with two touchdown passes, but would go on to throw 2 interceptions and lose the game 25-20 following the injury.

On Sunday, Kessler said he was set to take over for McCown if he was asked.

Jackson did not provide any specifics about the injury to McCown, who displayed toughness by staying in the game and absorbing several big hits while almost leading the Browns (0-2) to a comeback win. Last year, McCown suffered a season-ending broken clavicle on November 30.

McCown was already replacing Robert Griffin III, who also suffered an injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Third-round draft pick Kessler is next up for the Browns.

It was a rough start for rookie Ronnie Stanley, but he and rookie Alex Lewis improved as the day went on. “Here we go, right? We weren’t ideal”, said Flacco, who passed for 302 yards and led the second-largest comeback in Baltimore history. “Maybe not to to this degree anyplace I’ve been”, Jackson said.

“I think it is just not wanting to not be out there with your guys”, said McCown, who became emotional while explaining his ability to push through injuries. “Good call, that’s what I’m going to say”.

“It’s a physical game and you always have to be ready”, Cabot.

Two weeks into the season and the Browns are badly bruised.

“He’s one of the toughest human beings I’ve seen play in some time”, Jackson said. But that’s the nature of the sport. They get hit and get back up.

Could it be detrimental to play Kessler if he’s not ready? “You’ve got to play. When he fumbled the first snap after returning and gave himself up on the busted play, Za”™Darius Smith still managed to get a shot on his shoulder.

“I don’t know if it’ll stunt his growth”. I understand what you’re saying, but something’s going to come from it.

The 2008 Kansas City Chiefs were the last National Football League team to start three different quarterbacks in the first three games of a season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

As of Sunday, the Browns will have started five different quarterbacks in five games dating back to last season, with Johnny Manziel and Austin Davis starting the final two games of 2015. They went 10-6 and made the playoffs.

Jackson was evasive about the extent of McCown’s injury.

But wait, the Browns still head the lead 20-2 at that point in the first quarter. Jackson said the team will work out some quarterbacks on Tuesday.

The Browns said they may also presue other options like free agents like Jimmy Clausen and T.J. Yates.
