McDonald’s prepares for all-day breakfast – The Buzz

The fast food chain typically stops serving McMuffins, hash browns and hot cakes at 10:30 a.m., though the cap on the breakfast menu varies from restaurant to restaurant.
The Wall Street Journal has the details on a memo McDonald’s sent on Tuesday to all US employees and franchisees that alerted them to be ready.
It seems the all-day breakfast experiment at McDonald’s has been a success.
For the past several months, the fast food chain has been testing the ideas at some locations. And though offering breakfast all day is costly for both the company and its operators, it appears as though these drastic times are calling for equally drastic measures.
McDonald’s Corp.is telling franchisees to prepare for a potential nationwide launch of all-day breakfast as soon as October, according to an internal memo sent to US operators last week.
McDonald’s has long maintained that serving all-day breakfast would be too hard operationally to implement, thanks to limited grill space.

Before all-day breakfast can become a reality, various franchisee committees have to approve it. Thus, new CEO Steve Easterbrook is placing high hopes on the power of breakfast-for lunch and dinner.
