McDonald’s Revealed Secret Menu Items During A Reddit AMA

The Land, Air, and Sea burger (pictured below) is slightly more complicated: It is a Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish, and McChicken sandwich all stacked.

An anonymous McDonald’s manager hosted a Reddit chat over the weekend where curious minds inquired all sorts of unusual things about the world’s most famous fast food chain.

The manager, whose Reddit name is Orchidhibiscus, wrote: “You can order from the “Secret Menu”.

The 24-year-old from Scotland said customers in the know can order such delights as the controversially named McGangbang – a McChicken sandwich inside a double cheeseburger.

But being able to order items off the unofficial menu is just a matter of who is behind the counter, says the manager.

The phrasing of “secret menu“, however, is not something McDonald’s wishes to confirm. “It’s just a random persons” guide to burgers you could potentially “hack’ at McDonald’s”.

Items include the McLeprachaun Shake, which includes chocolate and mint and is only available during the month of March.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, anything labeled a “healthy option” just isn’t.

A huge debate has ensued under a thread entitled: ‘I Am A McDonald’s Manager Ask Me Anything.’. Instead of cooking the meat fresh, putting it on the burger, and hot-holding it for 10 minutes, team members will be taught to hot-hold the meat on a tray, and the buns and dressings will be made fresh.

McDonald’s milk is organic and the eggs are free range. These are called “grill orders” (i.e. Big Mac no pickle). Whereas beef is produced locally (at least for her McDonald’s) and fish is cooked freshly, the chicken is pre-packaged and flown in frozen from Thailand.

When asked if there is anything that customers should avoid ordering, the manager said, “DON’T order the grilled chicken”.

Are you going to attempt to order from the “secret menu“? “It’s awful frozen chicken that we defrost and steam and it’s a bit gelatinous”.
