The latest effort: breakfast Happy Meals.

The testing will begin Monday, and will be available at 73 McDonald’s locations near and around the Tulsa, Oklahoma region.

The Happy Meals offer a choice of 2 McGriddles cakes or an egg and cheese McMuffin.

McDonald’s Corp.is testing All Day Breakfast options for its Happy Meals, and 72 restaurants in Tulsa will debut the new offering starting September 26.

This menu addition comes days after McDonald’s announced it would be expanding its all-day breakfast menu.

McDonald’s Corp., based in Oak Brook, Illinois, has been trying to win back customers since CEO Steve Easterbrook took over a year ago and said he wanted to transform it into a “modern, progressive” burger company.

After years of steadily slumping sales, McDonald’s finally found a victor with all-day breakfast.

One of the company’s biggest moves since Easterbrook took over was the rollout of an all-day breakfast menu in the USA last fall. Same-store sales at McDonald’s USA, its largest market, rose 1.8% from the prior year during the second quarter, badly missing Wall Street forecasts for a 3.2% increase. For sizes, kids can choose between apple slices, yogurt, and, at some restaurants, hash browns.

The company said the McGriddles cakes in the Happy Meals have 240 calories, and the egg and cheese McMuffin has 260 calories. If the test run is successful, the child-focused all-day baby breakfast offering could go national next year. They’ll also be able to get fries during lunch and dinner hours.
