McDonnell’s Plea For End To Labour Civil War
As he intensely peered down the lens of the camera, we were led to question whether he was peering into the very pit of our souls.

Mr McGinn, the St Helens North MP and a Labour whip, made the claim that the party leader had considered using his father in an attempt to “apply pressure” on him following public criticism of Mr Corbyn.
250,000 people voted for Corbyn less than a year previously, yet a load of Labour MPs decided that they know better than the party membership, so they tried to bully Corbyn into quitting so as to avoid a democratic leadership election (because they knew that they would nearly certainly lose it).
“If you want to come for me and Jeremy, that’s up to you”.
John McDonnell has warned Labour MPs, members and supporters the party is in danger of destroying itself – even as he apologised over a member of his staff entering the office of a former shadow cabinet member without her permission.
Ms Malhotra investigated whether people had been accessing her office after a member of Mr McDonnell’s staff, accompanied by someone else, walked in on one of her staff members one evening a few days earlier, apparently believing the room to be empty.
‘As this is a serious breach of parliamentary privilege, I would be grateful if an urgent and thorough investigation is undertaken into the actions of these individuals and any other associated parties’. “This is a breach of parliamentary privilege and is a violation of the privacy, security and confidentiality of a member of parliament’s office”, she told The Observer.
Is this proof that Theresa May and Angela Merkel are in the Illuminati? “But don’t pick on staff who can’t defend themselves”.
And he added: “I’ve now got a member of staff – I’ll describe her to you: She’s a widow, with daughters, this is her sole income”. That’s just so distressing, it’s unacceptable. “My office said it was an error, a month after we thought she’d moved out”, he added.
Amid complaints that critics of Mr Corbyn – particularly women – have been subjected to bullying and abuse, he will say there is no place in the party for intimidation and – in a comment at the MPs seeking to oust him – no place for “coups”.
A spokesperson for Mr Corbyn said: “The accusation that Karie intimidated anyone is untrue”.
But asked on the BBC’s Marr Show if he and Mr Corbyn would resign following a general election defeat, Mr McDonnell said: “That would be inevitable”.
He said: “My worry has been we are not looking at the moment like a government in waiting, we don’t look like a credible powerful opposition and one that people can imagine running the country and I think that’s what we have got to be”.

He said: “I don’t do personal abuse, I don’t respond to personal abuse, I condemn any abuse from others”. Jeremy does not know my father so I can only presume that, because of the much-publicised fact that my father was a Sinn Féin councillor, Jeremy felt that they would share a political affinity and was proposing to use that to ask my father to apply pressure on me.
