McGinty, Toomey Senate race a dead heat: poll results

Trump’s campaign sought on Friday to begin its reset by announcing a team of 13 economic advisers, though it was widely noted that all were male and just one has a Ph.D.in economics. Let them announce, one by one, or together, that they will campaign to elect Republican candidates for every office – except president.

The neck-and-neck poll, which Franklin and Marshall College released on Thursday, showed McGinty with a one point lead over Toomey.

A Toomey spokesman swiftly reacted to McGinty’s comments, saying the Republican senator has criticized Trump in the past. In it, Toomey excoriated Trump’s “vulgarity”, “lack of appreciation for Constitutional limits on executive powers”, and proposals to ban Muslims, but said he also found Clinton, “unacceptably flawed”.

– A day after a new poll placed him neck-and-neck with Democratic challenger Katie McGinty, U.S. Sen.

“Everybody keeps talking about whether he’s even going to “pivot” and start to do responsible things and act presidential”, said longtime MI political expert Bill Ballenger. “They dream of Hillary Clinton”, he said. Clinton has also proposed a minimum wage increase, a new “exit tax” for companies that move overseas and tax simplification for small businesses.

“The people of this country don’t want somebody who’s going to short circuit up here”, Trump told supporters in New Hampshire. “I’ll say this as somebody who has run statewide in the state of Georgia and has helped dozens of candidates who have – I hope that Hillary Clinton spends a lot of time in Georgia and spends a lot of money because that will free up our resources to go to Pennsylvania, Florida and other states”.

On Tuesday during a rally in Virginia, Trump said Harrisburg looked “like a war zone” from his plane. Tickets were available only to members and their guests.

With ire, she fired salvos adorned with a goldplated “TRUMP” logo when she disparaged the candidate for his remarks against Khizr Khan, the father of fallen Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who blasted Trump at the Democratic National Convention last week. The 2016 Republican primary was an emotional affair. “But when companies leave MI or they leave OH and they go to Mexico and they think they’re going to sell product into our country with no tax, they’re wrong about that”, Trump said before a campaign stop in Toledo. In Nevada and Arizona, states with large and growing Hispanic populations, Clinton leads among Latinos by 54 and 36 points, respectively.

But Clinton has faced questions over her consistency on trade.

The attacks flowed from the Republican nominee as he once again tore into Clinton as unstable, unbalanced and totally unhinged. As secretary of state, she touted the potential benefits of TPP but came out against it in late 2015 after negotiations concluded.

Their running mates are popular but much less-known.

Trump appears to have done little to improve his overall image, despite efforts primarily by his children to use their convention speeches to portray him as a loving father and a successful business executive.
