McGregor avenges defeat against Diaz at UFC 202

Now, the sports world is waiting on what’s next for McGregor. Although Nate Diaz demanded a rematch with “The Notorious” to make it a trilogy, UFC president Dana White said he wasn’t interested just yet. And that was built through hard work and I’m going to capitalize on that. Some might not be this sport, so we’ll see. Going to lightweight? A trilogy with Nate Diaz? Diaz has not commented since the 3rd fight was announced, but close friends told reporters that he has been only doing bicep curls in the gym to prepare.

But it might not happen right away. Diaz got dropped a couple of times, it looked like he was done, and he came back.

“I went up to 170lb, I fought the bigger man”. But it seems like a rematch with Jose Aldo, the interim featherweight champion, does not intrigue him. Aldo beat Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 in July to claim the interim title.

UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 featured seven knockouts, three decisions, and two submission finishes.

In the post fight press conference, McGregor said: “I feel I have more skills, but he’s one tough motherf***er”. He didn’t go out and get it like I wanted him to get it. “I got the whole thing on tape”. Well, if you were a fan of McGregor you had to love seeing him pushed to the brink and battle back to win a decision over his rival. Diaz is the underdog at +145. “Regroup and we’ll do it again, but this time at 155 pounds”.

McGregor’s immediate reaction to the victory was to target a third meeting with 31-year-old Diaz.

Diaz has been called out, and if he wants to fight McGregor again, there is a good chance he will have to cut lots of weight if he wishes to fight McGregor again. Eddie Alvarez knocked out dos Anjos in the first round of their title fight at UFC 200.

The Irishman took down Diaz twice more in the second round, bloodying his nose and appearing to have total control of the fight.
