McGregor Beats Aldo In 13 Seconds
José Aldo lost his UFC featherweight championship in just 13 seconds Saturday night in the main event of UFC 194, as Conor McGregor connected with one devastating punch that dropped Aldo to the canvas.

JUST 24 hours away from UFC 194, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor weighed in and then almost went after each other on the stage after making their fight official on Friday.
Will Jose Aldo defend his title yet again, or can Conor McGregor finally dethrone the champion? ‘I really didn’t care what he says we’re going to have to come back here and it’s on to the next thing’. The most unforgettable exchange between the two was during the time when McGregor said, “It’s his shady ass that doesn’t get tested over there in Brazil” after the guy from Brazil who was supposed to take Aldo’s drug test got arrested by the police.
“If I say it’s going to happen, it happens”, he added.
Aldo (25-2) actually finished his punch and hit McGregor with a left, but the champ fell senseless to the ground.
“I tore 80 per cent of my ACL (knee ligament) on the world tour with Aldo last time round”, he recalls. Aldo brings debilitating leg kicks that have stopped opponents on more than one occasion. I said it in the octagon, that can happen [a quick knock-out], you don’t want to see it like that.
The current record for the biggest live gate is held by UFC 189 – another fight headlined by McGregor at the same venue – while the record in pay-per-view buys belongs to UFC 100, headlined by Brock Lesnar v Frank Mir which attracted 1.6m purchases.
The middleweight division saw its title changing hands after Luke Rockhold knocked out champion Chris Weidman in the fourth round of their co-main event fight.

If McGregor wins against Aldo, Frankie Edgar is the next in line for a title shot after his win over Chad Mendes at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale yesterday. “He is ready to unload that right hand and I feel that could be a downfall for him”. It certainly would be a super fight and create some remarkably intriguing scenarios for booking McGregor if he continued to win. He mentioned the possibility of holding his 145-pound title and also trying to fight for the lightweight strap, but ultimately the decision will be made after he consults his team and soaks in the glory of his performance at UFC 194.
