McGregor crowned champion at UFC 194

Jones insisted that if Ronda Rousey was granted an immediate rematch to Holly Holm despite a convincing loss at UFC 193, there is no reason White should not make a second installment of Aldo vs McGregor.

Aldo actually said: “He threw a jab on my chest, I was already expecting that”.

The Irishman won the fight after just 13 seconds with a stunning knockout punch to put the Brazilian on the deck. It’s a sport and we have to accept.

McGregor (19-2) finished the fight with an electrifying exchange shortly after the opening bell, slipping Aldo’s lead right and cracking the champ with his formidable punching power. “It’s a quick decision, and he was able to connect a good punch when I tried a combination”. That was never more evident than when he offered to step in on short notice and fight Dustin Poirier in the main event at UFC Dublin before his fight against Aldo. Thank you very much for all your support.

Aldo then moved on to talk of a rematch.

It was promised in that match against Faber that Edgar will someday get a title shot and this time around, UFC CEO Dana White is willing to deliver but McGregor seems to be bent over to moving up weight to 155lbs.

I would like to see a rematch between Aldo and McGregor due to not only Aldo being and idol for myself in my career, also because of the fact he deserves it due to this being his first loss in 10 years.

McGregor said he does not plan to vacate the featherweight belt, and wants to hold two titles at the same time like he did when he previously fought for Cage Warriors.

Even if his chance at redemption doesn’t come as soon as he might hope, Aldo expressed his confidence that he would one day gain revenge over the man who ended his lengthy stranglehold on the UFC featherweight division.

Although it was a long shot even before McGregor came out victorious, it was understandable that Edgar would have to wait a bit for his turn. If it’s God’s will, I’ll come back stronger and conquer (the belt) for you.
