McGregor KOs Aldo in 13 secs
But if he wants a shot at the lightweight belt, he’ll have to fight UFC president Dana White for the right to keep the featherweight title at the same time.

Conor McGregor finished off Jose Aldo in record time, 13 seconds to be exact, to become the new undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight champion this weekend.
On Saturday he said: ‘I’ll tell you one thing that won’t be happening.
“There will be one belt on one shoulder and a belt on the older shoulder”, he promised. I think Aldo should reassess himself while I look to maybe go for the 155-pound belt or maybe I look at Frankie [Edgar], so there are options.
“At 27 years of age, with every record in the book, with weight divisions above, ready for me to go at, super-fights left and right”.
The gauntlet was laid down earlier this month, when it was announced that the victor of the Conor McGregor-Jose Aldo fight would join Ronda Rousey on the cover of EA Sports’ UFC 2. But the newly-minted champ did hold both the featherweight and lightweight belts during his time with Cage Warriors before hitting the big time, and while doing so in the UFC would be something entirely different, it’s hard to doubt McGregor after his last two performances.
There were an estimated 10,000 Irish fans among the 16,516-strong attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. It takes a while for us to digest, but it’s part [of the sport]. “They’re doing us proud”.
Conor McGregor has been telling anyone who would listen that he would defeat Jose Aldo at UFC 194.
McGregor is now the face of the UFC, no question about it, a face that snarls and sneers and spews verbal vitriol but then occasionally delivers a grin cheeky enough to make you wonder if it is all a game and you’re in on the joke with him.
“Even if I was to suggest it or encourage it, I know it is a pointless effort”. Mystic Mc strikes again.
“He was a phenomenal champion…” We deserved to go a little bit longer. McGregor also has an uncanny ability to predict not only the outcome of a fight, but the manner in which he’ll accomplish his next feat of pugilistic prowess.

“If they have Croke Park and they want him, I’ll take that, no problem”. I never fall for provocations, I stay with a clear head (calm mind) in there, man. I have to get in there and do my job. “That was really not a fight so we need to get back in here”.
