McGregor Outpoints Diaz At UFC 202
UFC 202 didn’t disappoint in the promotion’s first event since officially being sold to WME-IMG for $4 billion.

After months of trading verbal barbs, and after the now infamous bottle/can throwing incident during the press conference, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz waged an epic war at UFC 202 last night in Las Vegas.
Of course, after the loss, Diaz could be hesitant to drop down to a weight for which McGregor is better suited. Only this time, instead of trying to end the fight in the middle rounds, he didn’t leave himself vulnerable to the bigger Diaz, going the five-round distance. I got the whole thing on tape.
“I mean, how long was I going back and forth with Jose?”
Despite relentless trash talk that came to an eruptive boil in a pre-fight press conference, the pair of fighters displayed respect for one another after the battle, hugging in the octagon.
Nearly immediately, both combatants started talking rubber match. I continued to fight someone else. He didn’t go out and get it like I wanted him to get it. With one victory each he believes a trilogy fight is the only realistic option for him moving forward, especially since he claims to have been at less than 100 percent for the bout due to an injury suffered in training camp that prevented him preparing at an optimal level. “I’m ready for [No. 3]”.
McGregor wants a third fight against Diaz to be at 155 pounds – that’s the lightweight limit, where the fighters would essentially be meeting halfway between featherweight and welterweight.
A reporter asked McGregor how he felt about facing Aldo next at 145 pounds.
“I overcame adveristy at 170”, he said. Come back to 155. UFC President Dana White confirmed to multiple outlets last night that the trilogy fight between the two will not happen right away.
“Conor has to defend his title or make a decision to give it up or whatever he wants to do”. “You won’t see me until then”.
Said White, “If I was Conor, I’d defend my title”.
Either way, White seemed pleased with what is in early contention for the fight of the year. “Then we rescheduled, two-year round-the-world deal with that boy and then he stepped in and I beat him in 13 seconds”, McGregor said via Fox Sports. “One minute, it looked like Conor was gassed, and he got a second wind”.

On Saturday all that anger came pouring out as the two went shot for shot over 5 rounds with the judges giving McGregor the decision.
