MCU RUMORS: ‘Captain America: Civil War’ to Feature Wasp?

In his interview with Cinema Blend at the Los Angeles press day for Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man“, Feige revealed that Wasp will not be seen in the Russo’s upcoming film, as “Captain America: Civil War” will involve several things and fans have just explored “Ant-Man” with its release.

The post credits scene in “Ant-Man” linked viewers to what is soon to unfold in the highly anticipated “Captain America: Civil War” film.

Marvel President Kevin Feige admitted that Hope Van Dyne’s Wasp was originally planned to show up in “Captain America: Civil War“, but Feige did not want Wasp’s appearance to be brief and overshadowed by the many characters present in the film, Screenrant reported. We’ll probably get some twists and turns here, but Feige said that the story will be simple.

“It’s a good question, and it will certainly be in phase three”. “It is going to be a very important moment, and – spoiler alert! – we see that suit for the first time, and her father now is finally giving it to her and realizes that he can’t hold her back from what is essentially her destiny”.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for “Ant-Man“.

One of the biggest secrets revealed during the “Ant-Man” film was that Dr. Hank Pym’s wife Janet Van Dyne was actually the Wasp, but she sacrificed her own life and shrunk herself too much and entered the Quantum Realm – a dimension where space and time does not matter in order to save Pym’s life and complete the S.H.I.E.L.D. mission at hand.

Janet had been referenced in the Edgar and Joe drafts, however she was by no means part of the film. “It’s going to be Phase 3 for sure”.

“‘Civil War” is a relatively simple story. The current version of the Avengers already has two females in Scarlet Witch and Black Widow, but whether Wasp could make it three will depend on the Civil War outcome. Hank suggests Hope help him complete it for her to use.

He told Zap2it that he has no idea yet on when an “Ant-Man 2” can be plotted in Marvel’s timeline; however, he added that if there is an overpowering reason to pin a sequel in the timeline, the studio will figure it out.
