Local favourite Alena Sharp (67) was fourth overall, while a brilliant final round from Karrie Webb (64) saw her claim equal fifth alongside Anna Nordqvist (68).

Ko was second in Rio, five strokes behind Inbee Park.

Minjee Lee has posted one of the best scores during the third round of the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open at Priddis Greens, but the Australian remains seven shots off the lead. That’s how there are a lot of good Korean players and a lot of Korean girls on tour.

“I feel pretty good today and I hit my tee shots really well”, she told LPGA.com after her round. I just really want to be happy on the course.

She finished four shots clear of runner-up Sei Young Kim of South Korea on the 6,622-yard Raven course.

“I don’t think it was 100 percent”, said the Smith Falls sensation, “but it was really close to being really good, which is always fun”. “But when I got here on Monday and Tuesday, it’s getting a lot better, and first round of the tournament it’s fine”.

Outside of Jason Day, who leads the PGA Tour with three victories this season, the players with the most wins on the four biggest US golf tours in 2016 are all somewhat of surprises.

“It’s a rough little stretch there in the middle, and I just kind of had to pull myself together”.

“I know the greens are super fast, so I just know I had to roll it on the green and then the green was going to do the rest”, said Leblanc.

FRESH FROM REPRESENTING Ireland at the Olympics, Stephanie Meadow has rediscovered her best form to lie in a tie for second at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open.

Meadow, the first-round leader, carded two birdies and two bogeys as she finished in tied-10th. The 18-year-old Henderson beat Ko in a playoff in June in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship for her first major title, and successfully defended her Cambia Portland Classic title last month.

Jutanugarn’s 23 under equalled the tournament record, which was set by Korea’s So Yeon Ryu in 2014 at London Hunt in Ontario.

With a Canadian flag on her bag and beside her name on the leaderboard, she can certainly count on plenty of support as she tries to run down Jutanugarn in Sunday’s last lap.

Another crowd favorite is Brooke Henderson, the budding 18-year-old Canadian star who is No. 3 in the World Golf Rankings.

Jutanugarn completed four assignments – par, par, par, bogey – in Friday’s early-morning restart, signing for a 4-under 68 in the weather-delayed opening round.
