Media Molecule, the Guilford, United Kingdom based video game developer responsible for such popular games as LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway, has dreamt up something big for their next project. You can alter and adjust the controls of a character – just as you had the Controllinator in LittleBigPlanet – record your own sound effects and music. Imagine Nintendo’s recent Mario Maker, but turned up to 11, and you’ll be on the right track. One button, create your mark. Through exploring the various dreams, players learn the basics of the controls and how to go about using the toolset at their disposal. Of course, you don’t have to create things on your own, either. You can immediately call up the work of other players, and collage it, remix it, modify it, and make it your own. While many questions still remain, we now know enough about Dreams to be incredibly excited. While many games now feature customization, Dreams will emphasize actual design and creation. Luckily, we may not have to wait that long to get our answers. Though no date has been set for the beta or for the release date of Dreams but make sure to keep your eyes open for more information popping up in the coming months.
