John Daly plays his second of what could be seven majors this year on both tours he is exempt into the PGA Championship and British Open as a past champion. But it was playing straight down wind and I knew that green is a very much of a down slope before the pin.
During his heyday in the early 1990s, Daly won four times on the PGA Tour, notably an improbable victory in the 1991 PGA Championship at Crooked Stick, which he entered as ninth alternate. 14, 16 and 17 to trim his advantage to one.
John Daly on Thursday at the Senior PGA Championship signed for a quintuple-bogey nine. The Australian dropped nine shots in his first 10 holes to tumble down the leaderboard and wound up shooting a 78 to tie for 15th at 3 under. He had shot 70-70-69 and held a share of fourth place last week at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., before posting a final-round 74 and fading. “It’s always tough to judge the up and overs, it was up a pretty good percent slope and then once it got to the top of the crown it was breaking left and so I hit a pretty good read on it in the beginning and Brian helped me, my caddie, and we increased the break a couple inches and hit it well and it went in”. DalCorobbo is the golf coach at Speedway High School and the assistant golf pro at Brickyard Crossing, the golf course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The highlight of Dalcorobbo’s round was when he chipped in from the fairway for eagle at the 18th.
The American made the first move with birdies at the third and fifth, and responded to a dropped shot at the seventh with back-to-back birdies into the turn while Montgomerie birdied five, six and nine.
Patrick Reed, Anirban Lahiri and Webb Simpson shot 65. News stories displayed here appear in our category for Sports and are licensed via a specific agreement between LongIsland.com and The Associated Press, the world’s oldest and largest news organization.
Defending champion Byeong-Hun An of South Korea had a 72.
The 20-year-old Jutanugarn is coming off a win at the Kingsmill Championship after becoming the first Thai victor in tour history the previous week in Alabama.
