Meek Mill Continues Fight to Avoid Jail Time

However, despite valiant efforts from both Meek and his lady Nicki Minaj, the judge ultimately found Meek guilty of “technical violation” of his probation, according to TMZ reports.

With girlfriend Nicki Minaj watching on, the 28-year-old insisted he never intentionally ignored travel restrictions or other probation rules.

The “Wanna Know” rapper is on probation from a 2009 gun and drug charge, so before he travels anywhere outside Philly, he needs permission from his probation officer.

“This court has done nothing but try to help the defendant”, said Brinkley, who could send the rapper to jail for a few months, as she did last year over similar issues, or send him to a state prison for two years or more. She ordered him not to work or perform before the February 5 sentencing. “Before this case I was on the road to destruction”, he reportedly said.

Mill served short stints in jail and home confinement following his conviction, when he could have gotten five to 10 years in prison.

“How many times am I supposed to give him a second chance?” she asked, concluding that probation may no longer be “appropriate”.

“Babe thanks but I think I need a bigger size”, she joked alongside the eye-popping photo. “She actually worked with me but as a rapper, [and] sometimes, they could see things in a certain way”. “He’s not flawless, but I can’t believe how much he’s changed”.

Sounding contrite, Mill praised Brinkley for helping him turn his life around, and said he holds her in the same esteem as his mother, grandmother, sister, and girlfriend. Nicki’s manager Shawn Gee said it was the nature of the music business that plans can be last minute. “The DAs and JUDGES get just as high as the next man and fuck people’s lives up!”
